Tottenham Hotspur – Liverpool spilles på  FC Estadio Metropolitano, der har plads til knap 68.000 tilskuere og  til daglig er hjemmebane for Atlético Madrid. Sponsor for Atlético Madrid er  kinesiske “ Dalian Wanda Group “ og derfor er navnet på stadion uden for UEFA-regi “Wanda Metropolitano stadium“ . Atlético Madrid overtog det renoverede stadion i sæsonen 2017-18. PSV, Eindhoven : 2 – 2 på ” Philips stadion” i det første opgør efter Tottenham dominerede og Eindhoven fik udlignet i det 87. minut. Lucas og Kane scorede. På Wembley vandt Tottenham 2 – 1 på to mål af Kane. Igen dominerede Spurs kampen, men føringsmålet kom først i det 89. minut.

Inter : Inter vandt det første opgør i september med 2 – 1  på “ Stadio Giuseppe Meazza ” . Eriksen bragte Spurs foran kort inde i anden halveg og holdet var i kontrol indtil 86-87 minutter var spillet af kampen. Inter udlignede – og scorede et sejrsmål i tillægstiden. I returmødet på Wembley scorede Eriksen igen kampens første mål (efter 80 min.). Det blev også kampens eneste i en kamp, hvor Spurs igen havde et lille overtag uden at kunne lukke kampen. Son blev indskiftet med en halv time tilbage af kampen og Eriksen, da der manglede tyve minutter. Det betød hurtigere og mere direkte spil, der førte til flere muligheder. Efter scoringen var Tottenham i kontrol.

Barcelona : Det blev 2 – 4 på hjemmebane. Kane og Lamela scorede og Messi spillede strålende. I sjette og sidste spillerunde i gruppespillet endte opgøret uafgjort 1 – 1 efter Lucas udlignede med 5 minutter tilbage af den ordinære spilletid.

Dortmund : Dortmund vandt sin pulje med 13 p og målscoren 10 – 2. I ottendedelsfinalen vandt Tottenham begge opgør. Først blev det 3 – 0 på Wembley med Son, Vertonghen og Llorente som målscorere. Dernæst endte det 1 – 0 på udebane med Kane som kampens eneste målscorer.

Manchester City : Manchester City vandt sin pulje med 13 p og målscore på 16 – 6. Modstanderen i den første vind-eller-forsvind-runde var Schalke 04, der blev besejret 3 – 2 på Veltins-Arena. Returmødet  vandt Manchester City med 7 – 0 hjemme på Ethihad Stadium. I kvartfinalen havde Tottenham hjemmebane i første kamp. Son scorede kampens eneste mål efter 77 minutters spil. Returopgøret i Manchester vandt City med 4 – 3. Son med to mål og Llorente med et scorede de tre mål for Spurs.

Ajax : Med tre sejre og tre uafgjorte blev Ajax toer i sin gruppe efter Bayern München. Real Madrid var første modstander i knock-out-fasen. Ajax tabte hjemme 1 – 2 for at tage til Madrid og vinde 4 -1. I kvartfinalen var Juventus modstanderen. Ajax spillede 1 – 1 på hjemmebanen og vandt derefter ude med 2 – 1. I semifinalen havde Tottenham hjemmebane i første kamp, der blev vundet af Ajax med 1 – 0. På udebanen scorede Lucas alle tre mål i 3 – 2 sejren.

1 ♦ Inter var første modstander. På Giuseppe Meazza bragte Eriksen Spurs foran kort inde i anden halveg og Tottenham troede de havde kampen under kontrol, men på to sene mål af Icardi og Vecino vandt Inter 2 – 1.

2 ♦ I gruppespillets anden runde tog Spurs mod Barcelona på Wembley Stadium. Coutinho og Rakitic sikrede en føring til Barcelona ved halveg. Kane reducerede inden Messi gjorde det til 3 – 1. Lamela skabte fornyet spænding i de sidste 25 minutter. I overtiden scorede Messi kampens sidste mål til 4 – 2.

3 ♦ PSV, Eindhoven var gruppens tredie modstander. På Philips stadion endte kampen 2 – 2. Lucas og Kane vendte 0 – 1 til 2 – 1. Igen mislykkedes det for Tottenham at kontrollere kampen hjem. I det 87. minut udlignede de Jong til slutresultatet.

4 ♦ I fjerde runde havde Tottenham hjemmebane mod PSV. De Jong bragte PSV foran i kampens indledning og Spurs pressede på for en udligning og med et kvarter tilbage lykkedes det for Kane. Med sit andet mål sikrede Kane sejren på 2 – 1 i kampens 89. minut.

5 ♦ I det andet møde med Inter hjemme på Wembley scorede Eriksen kampens eneste mål, da der manglede ti minutter af den ordinære tid.
